Mi Via
Mi Via In-Home Living Supports is a service for adults 18+ years in age that enhances home living skills and addresses health and safety.
Alta Mira Specialized Services Inc. is a proud vendor of Mi Via In-Home Living Supports. The Mi Via Waiver is one of several waivers available in New Mexico and is unique in promoting self-direction by the participant over all services and supports.
Mi Via, “My Path,” is about choosing self-direction over home and community-based services, support, and goods within an approved budget plan.
Mi Via Waiver participants, their families, or authorized representatives directly manage service plans and budgets by selecting their own Vendor Agencies to provide services. With support from existing systems within the Mi Via program, including the ability to choose who assists with establishing ongoing services and supports through the Mi Via Waiver, qualifying participants are empowered to select which waiver and Agency Provider best meets their needs.
Services provided include:
- A combination of assisting and instructing with activities of daily living (ADL), including grooming, bathing, dressing, oral care, eating, transferring, mobility, and toileting.
- The acquisition, restoration, or retention of independent living skills such as shopping, banking, money management, health care, and medication management.
- Assisting and instructing in performing general household tasks, including housekeeping and meal preparation.
- Assistance in acquiring or maintaining social interaction skills, community involvement, and transportation.
