Alta Mira Orientation

This course provides information about a variety of topics, including: history of the DD Waiver; Alta Mira services and expectations; incident management; universal precautions; proper lifting; HIPAA guidelines; sexual harassment; fire extinguisher safety; and workplace violence. 

Health & Safety Institute First Aid/CPR/AED

First Aid is the initial care given to someone who is injured or suddenly becomes ill before more advanced medical care arrives.  The goal of this course is to expose you to some realistic emergencies, and give you the knowledge and skills needed to respond safely and effectively.

Individual Service Plan 

Individual Service Plan provides information about a variety of topics, including (but not limited to) the following: person-centered philosophy; the importance of developing support networks; the value of assessment; how to participate in the ISP process; the development of meaningful vision statements, outcomes, action plans, individual-specific training requirements, and teaching and support strategies.

ANE Awareness

This training educates participants regarding what 7.1.14 NMAC requires for reporting abuse, neglect and exploitation, how to keep people safe, and what is required of all as mandatory reporters.  It is based on the need to “break the culture” of Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation (ANE), and place the focus on protecting individuals at risk.

Assisting with Medication Delivery (AWMD)

This course provides basic information about medications.  In this course, the trainee will learn about the different levels of assistance with medication delivery, proper procedures for assisting with medication, support techniques, and observation, reporting, and documentation procedures.

Handle with Care

Some individuals with positive behavior support plans (PBSP) and behavioral crisis intervention plans (BCIP) require additional support and guidance.  Handle with Care training covers both verbal and physical de-escalation techniques based on recommendations from the interdisciplinary team (IDT).  Note: Appropriate attire must be worn for this class.  This includes, but is not limited to, clothing that you can move around in easily and gym shoes with laces.  If these requirements are not met, you must reschedule and attend the class at a later date.
